Donor services

The Opportunity Plan, Inc. makes it easy for donors to assist students as they pursue their college goals. The organization has helped individuals, families, businesses and civic groups support higher education for 50 years. Staff members utilize personalized service for each donor to insure a job well done.

Help from A to Z

Some donors come to the Opportunity Plan with a general idea of the type of student they would like to support. Opportunity Plan staff members outline the specific criteria for a student loan or scholarship division and then develop an application, news release and other items to facilitate the division. Staff members are also involved with receiving the scholarship applications and selecting the recipient(s). All bookkeeping functions including receipting of contributions, investment of funds, financial reporting, etc. is also handled by the program.

Other donors are simply looking for an organization to handle the financial aspects of a loan or scholarship division. The donor oversees the promotion, application and selection side of the loan or scholarship while the Opportunity Plan handles all the financial details.

The Opportunity Plan provides these administrative services at no cost to donors. Fees are not subtracted from the loan and scholarship divisions and donors are not billed for the services. The organization raises funds separately to cover its operating expenses. Many donors make annual contributions to help offset these expenses.

You don't have to reinvent the wheel!

One of the easiest ways to support college students is to contribute to existing loan and scholarship divisions. The Opportunity Plan currently administers 142 loan divisions and 127 scholarship divisions. Chances are, there is one that would appeal to most any donor.
